Why use the Google toolbar

The Google toolbar offers a great range of features to make your life easier if you use the internet quite often. The main and to be fair sole reason I got it in the beginning was for the pop up blocker, everyone knows how annoying pop ups can be and this is a quick and easy way to eliminate them. Depending on what type of surfer you are depends on the advantages it gives you, for example I’m a webmaster so I find the page rank feature very useful but an average user probably won’t what that is. One feature which is handy across the board of users is the ability to search google.com by typing your required search term in the search box.

If you use gmail as a source of your emailing facilities then you will also benefit from having the toolbar as you can login with the click of a button and check or send emails with no fuss what so ever to yourself. Another great time saving feature is the auto fill button, simply click the button and it will fill in any form on screen automatically so once again this is useful for me as a webmaster for when I need to fill forms in for directories etc.

One characteristic of this toolbar which I use a fair bit but again wont benefit the average user is the translation tool. Basically you can translate a webpage into any desired language so if you have found something you think may be of use or just interested in foreign languages you can have a fair bit of fun with this tool.

Aside the fact I find the Google toolbar very useful I feel that it may not benefit every user out there as the main reason I would say to novices or rare internet users to get this is because of the pop up blocker but nowadays you will have some form of anti virus that may have its own pop up blocker so that feature would be useless.
