If you know that one of these toolbars is malicious and installs: spyware, adware, viruses, etc., please let us know and upon testing, if the toolbar is malicious in any way, we will remove it and also post it in the UNSAFE-BEWARE category so everyone can be aware and stay clear. We will even contact the publisher and let them know their software has been blacklisted on the Toolbar Portal. In cases where the toolbar has been accidentally infected by a virus, we will ask the publisher to remedy the problem and upon review/testing we may remove the toolbar from the blacklist. What is Adware? Adware is software that monitors a person's Web surfing and periodically pops up advertisements on a user's computer. The marketing data is collected periodically and sent in the background to the adware Web server. What is Spyware? Spyware is software that sends information about your Web surfing habits to its Web site. Often quickly installed in your computer in combination with a free download you selected from the Web, spyware transmits information in the background as you move around the Web. If adware is installed in the user's machine without disclosure, it is considered "spyware."
